Okay, so I've remembered why I hate trying to work in the university library... Too many arseholes being too damn loud... I've got the books I need, so I'm gonna do today's blog while I'm still online and then I'm gonna hide away in my own personal Fortress of Solitude (My room) to try and finish this damn thing. Also, being at the house will mean no internet, which means less distractions, huzzah! But for now, let's see what happens next with Tyler, Cassie and our mysterious woman in silver.
Cassie couldn't believe what happened next. She was quite literally escorted from the police station by this woman and Detective Sloane. None of the other officers even so much as batted an eyelid at her leaving. Outside of the station, Cassie was slightly less surprised to see that this woman got into a polished black Rolls Royce Phantom, leaving the door open, expecting Cassie to follow... She did. The car slid into motion effortlessly and made hardly any noise at all, at least, not that could be heard within the car itself. This was luxury, but then, Cassie expected as much from looking at this woman. She was perfect; she looked like she wouldn't be out of place on a cinema screen or a catwalk. "Wh-" Cassie coughed. Her throat was hoarse from her crying, "Where are we going?" The woman looked at her with that same wry smirk and shifted a little in her seat "Going? We're going back to the beginning. It's often nice to retrace one's steps and take a fresh start at things, don't you agree?" Cassie paused, thinking about how she felt, what she'd done. Steve. She could feel tears welling up again as she nodded. "There's somebody else you need to meet too. He should be waiting for us on our arrival." The woman looked back out of the car window as her driver adjusted the air conditioningg a little so there was a cooling, refreshingly gentle breeze blowing through the back of the car. Cassie, for the first time in what felt like forever, slowly drifted off to sleep.
Tyler finally made it home, taking a moment to empty his mailbox - only two letters, and a parcel. He hurried upstairs to his apartment and locked the door behind him before casting his clothes aside, tossing the mail onto the couch, heading into the bathroom and starting the shower. He waited for a few moments before it had properly heated up and then he went about cleaning up the dried blood off of him. Before long, he was simply just standing there. He let the water wash over him as his mind wandered to what he'd done.
As clean as he could get, he found some fresh clothes and checked over his mail. Bills. The parcel however, that intrigued him. He hadn't ordered anything. He opened the package to find a cellphone, a passport and a credit card. Confused, he switched on the phone to find a fully charged battery and a voicemail. The message started out crackly at first, but soon cleared up, "-yler, I hope you're hearing this. It's Selene, she has a job for you. Only you can do it. If you're hearing this then you'll already have proven yourself able to take the job by passing the test. I have to go. It's not safe here. Ring speed dial 3. I hope to see you soon. Ja-" and then the message just crackled out and ended as abruptly as it had begun. Tyler dropped the phone and looked blankly at it. Test? Selene? Was that the woman from the club? Was killing that person the test?! He stood up and paced his apartment, trying to think things through. He had no idea who had left that message, no idea who Selene was, and could only assume she was the club lady, but what job? He already had a job, sure it was at an office as a computer technician, but it paid okay and he liked it. What kinda of job was this guy talking about? He picked the phone back up and left the apartment, moving his hands over the keypad to call speed dial 3, N-Tice. Tyler made for the club, the dial tone sounded, he couldn't even begin to imagine who or what was at the other end of the line...
Well, I'm off back to duvetland to get this damn essay finished. Enjoy! Feedback welcome as always!!
Adios,
Craiggy.
