Well folks, as you can see I've decided to go with a shiny new design for the blog. Dunno if I like it yet, so I may change it around again soon... Today has been a day of changing around so far, as I decided I was bored, and so as a result I shifted all of the furniture in my room to different places... Still within my room, just, different places... Well, I'm gonna carry on with Entwined today. I have to say, I like this project as a concept, but I'm not sure I've done it the justice I wanted to... I might see if I can pick things up a bit somehow before deciding to wrap it up.
I figured I'd take the bone fragment I found to Eddie, as I was going to see him anyway. Eddie wasn't an Entwined, but he was what people like us referred to as a Channeler, someone who can commune and manipulate external spirits. I suppose that's why he felt so at home around the dead. He was an averagely tall guy, around five-seven, but skinny as hell; some would even say gaunt. He almost looked like a corpse, especially with the thinning, straw hair he just let run wild around his head. "Declan, I wasn't expecting you for another hour or so. I've not had a chance to su-" I stopped him by handing him the bone fragment, wrapped in a napkin. Subway. I got hungry on the ride over so made a stop... "What can you tell me about this Ed?" He blinked, "Smells like a meatball sub, but I'm assuming you mean what's wrapped inside." He opened it and stroked his chin where there would normally be a whispy beard, but it must've been his monthly shave today. "Well, there's definitely spiritual residue around it Dec, but I can't tell you if it's an Entwined or a Channeler." I took the fragment back, "Definitely an Entwined, I just don't know if they've gone rogue or not yet. And if not, then why're they killing seemingly at random?" Eddie just shrugged, "Sorry Dec, I couldn't say. Like I was about to tell you, I've not had a chance to summon the spirits of the last two, and the other bodies have already been disposed of." Disposed of. Morgue humour. That just meant they'd been returned to their families and buried or cremated. Like I said, Eddie was wierd...
"I don't like this Dec. I'm telling you, something's not right here. That spirit essence, it didn't feel corrupt to me..." We were back at the apartment now, and Shane hadn't stopped thinking about the figure on the street lamp since we left the morgue. That was one bonus to having a sentient spirit bound to me, it was like having an extra brain too... Sure it was only my brother, but we'd both been at this long enough to know when something didn't add up. "Okay, so we know the last victims were a couple, and then the family before them, then five other cases before them. No, four. One was another couple." I set my coffee maker to work. It was gonna to be a long a night, and I'd need all the help I could get. But one thing was for certain. If I was going to figure this one out. I needed those police files... I needed to pay a visit to the station...
Still not quite sure where I'm going with this one. I have a general idea of what I want, but not a final outcome, so I'm gonna keep it going for a few more days I think, see what happens.
Adios for now people,
Craiggy.
