Why is it I think up most of my ideas whilst on public transport? Ah well. Here you go.
There used to be a book store in my home town
Where I would sit and while away
The hours until it closed down.
I’ll always remember that day.
The sad thing is that it was a chain,
Not even a stand-alone store.
It’ll never open its doors again,
And people will read there no more.
What I’m trying to say is that we need to invest
In the stores that we care for and love.
Our money should go to fund our interests,
So we can keep our stores up above
That line before they sink into the red,
Both small stores and big businesses too.
They all need our help to stay one step ahead
Of being penniless and with no trade to do.
This economy’s a mess, but the chance is yours,
To help fix this financial plight.
Please, before all our stores
Close their windows and doors,
Help the economical fight.
You might think this wrong,
Or even insane,
But the message is strong.
Our stores, must, remain.
